Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty

Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on the 1st of October 1995. She is best known for her acting appearing in Choices (2011), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004) and Chrissie Mair's Content House.

Asia Argento was raised in Rome by a filmmaker and actor family. Both professions she pursued herself. Her debut came at the age of nine years old in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni (1985). In 1988, she played her role as the main character in the debut film of Cristina Comencini, Zoo (1988), as well as being part of the cast of The Church (1989), directed by Michele Soavi. The following year she played Nanni Moretti's daughter in Red Wood Pigeon (1989) (also directed by Moretti). It was in Close Friends (1992), written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career truly took off. she could change from playing young girls, to larger, more sophisticated role. This movie received a positive response during the Cannes International Film Festival. Trauma (1996) and The Stendhal Sydrome (1996) are other films she has worked on with her famous father. The Phantom of the Opera is her third movie alongside her father, with her first two movies being Trauma & The Stendhal Syndrome. Asia's absorbed and intense approach to acting has also been used in the film by Giuseppe Piccioni in Condannato a nozze. Patrice Chereau directed Queen Margot in which she also played an important role. In 1995, Asia collaborated with Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion, for which she won a David di Donatello. Asia started directing in the year 1994 she produced two short films: Prospettive (1996), a document on her father, and Abel/Asia (1998) Abel/Asia, a feature on the legendary film maker Abel Ferrara. The latter was awarded an award at the Rome Film Festival. Asia started directing her first feature-length film in 1999, with Scarlet Diva (2000). She was also the main actress, and the author for the screenplay. The film was released on May 20, 2000, in Italy and the rest of the world. It was awarded a special award by the Williamsburg Film Festival in Brooklyn. In 2001, following the directing of a number of music videos and giving birth, she welcomed her first child, Anna Lou. In 2002, she appeared involved in The Red Siren directed by Olivier Megaton and starred alongside Jean-Marc Barr. Rob Cohen also directed the action film featuring Vin Diesel. Asia has also written some short stories which were published in a variety of magazines.
